7. Malinda² Pierce (John¹) was born in Alexander County, Illinois February 26, 1851.⁽¹⁶⁾ The date on her death certificate by a son-in-law contradicts this date. But this date agrees with census enumerations and is given by her son. Malinda died February 25, 1936 in Van Zandt County, Texas, at 84 years of age.⁽¹⁷⁾ Malinda died from bronchopneumonia complicated by cardiac decompensation. Her body was interred February 26, 1936 in Smith County, Texas, at Providence Cemetery.⁽¹⁸⁾ Malinda's grave is unmarked.

She married five times. She married Almerine Marshall in Howell County, Missouri, February 21, 1869.⁽¹⁹⁾ Almerine was born in Missouri November 9, 1846.⁽²⁰⁾ Almerine was the son of Jacob Marshall and Sarah Hicks. Almerine died April 8, 1877 in Arkansas, at 30 years of age.⁽²¹⁾ He may have died in Franklin County Arkansas. His body was interred in Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas.

She married Benjamin Kelly in Franklin County, Arkansas, January 1, 1880.⁽²²⁾ They were married by James M. Clevenger, Minister of the Gospel at the Missionary Baptist Church. Benjamin was born in Illinois 1852.⁽²³⁾

She married --?-- Otrie after 1881.

She married J.N. Ross in Smith County, Texas, August 6, 1885.⁽²⁴⁾ J.N. died about 1892 in Van Zandt County, Texas.⁽²⁵⁾

She married John Henry Rose in Van Zandt County, Texas, September 9, 1917.⁽²⁶⁾ John was born in Tennessee January 8, 1838.⁽²⁷⁾ John died March 15, 1922 in Van Zandt County, Texas, at 84 years of age.⁽²⁸⁾ He died in the home of his wife's daughter, Mrs. W.N. Adams. According to his pension file, he died from pneumonia. His body was interred in Smith County, Texas, at Providence Cemetery.⁽²⁹⁾

20 vi. Andy Kelly was born in Arkansas December 28, 1881.⁽³⁵⁾ He was a twin to Ida Kelly. Andy died January 2, 1882 in Arkansas, at less than one year of age.⁽³⁶⁾

8. Louisa A.² Pierce (John¹) was born in Missouri November 1854. Louisa died about 1925 in Lee County, Mississippi.⁽³⁷⁾ In a 1932 letter to Malinda Ross, Robert Norris tells her his mother died six years ago. Eliza was living with Robert when she died.

She married William H. Norris in Franklin County, Arkansas, January 25, 1877. William was born in Alabama June 1844.

16. James Hardin Levi³ Marshall (Malinda² Pierce, John¹) was born in Stringtown, Arkansas May 15, 1873.⁽³⁸⁾ James died October 15, 1941 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at 68 years of age.⁽³⁹⁾ He died from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. His body was interred October 16, 1941 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at Riverside Cemetery.⁽⁴⁰⁾ The interment was under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home. He is grave is space 212, Block Z.

He married twice. He married Jessie P. Thomas August 3, 1899.⁽⁴¹⁾ Jessie was born in Texas January 16, 1884.⁽⁴²⁾

He married Martha Eula Goolsby in Poletown, Van Zandt County, Texas, November 22, 1905.⁽⁴³⁾ They were married by D.D. Richardson, Minister of the Gospel. Poletown is now part of Grand Saline.

Eula was born in Whitesboro, Grayson County, Texas April 1, 1891.⁽⁴⁴⁾ Eula was the daughter of Jeremiah Marr Goolsby and Mary Margret Turner. Eula died January 5, 1974 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at 82 years of age. Her body was interred in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at Crestview Memorial Park.

James Hardin Levi Marshall and Jessie P. Thomas had the following family:

Charlie G.⁴ Marshall was born in Van Zandt County, Texas August 9, 1900.⁽⁴⁵⁾ Charlie died September 9, 1904 in Oklahoma, at 4 years of age.⁽⁴⁶⁾ His body was interred in Marshall County, Oklahoma, at New Isom Springs Cemetery.⁽⁴⁷⁾ Charlie was originally buried in Isom Springs Cemetery. This cemetery had to be relocated for the contruction of Lake Texoma in 1942. On August 11, 1942, his grave, identified as Grave No. 114, was moved to New Isom Springs Cemetery. According to correspondence between Levi Marshall and the U.S. Engineer Office, the grave is marked.

29 ii. Ruby Millie Marshall was born in Van Zandt County, Texas August 27, 1906.⁽⁴⁸⁾ She was born in her parents home, between Grand Saline and Silver Lake Community. Ruby died March 15, 1987 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at 80 years of age. Her body was interred in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at Crestview Memorial Park. She married twice. She married Jesse Lee Flowers in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, July 24, 1924.⁽⁴⁹⁾ Jesse was born in Ninnekah, Grady County, Oklahoma February 1, 1903. Jesse was the son of James Wesley Flowers and Cassa Odelia Howard. Jesse died December 8, 1957 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at 54 years of age.
His body was interred Decmeber 10, 1957 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at Crestview Memorial Park. She married Wallace Condor Carr in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, September 5, 1972. Wallace was born September 11, 1906. Wallace was the son of Robert C. Carr and Belle B. --?--. Wallace died September 16, 1977 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at 71 years of age.

Bessie Irene Marshall was born in Silver Lake Community, Van Zandt County, Texas August 30, 1908.⁽⁵⁰⁾ Bessie died November 23, 2000 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at 92 years of age. She passed away on Thanksgiving morning. Her brother passed away about 5 hours later in California. Her body was interred November 25, 2000 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at Crestview Memorial Park. She married Charlie M. Young in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, August 31, 1924.⁽⁵¹⁾ They were married in Bessie's parent's home by a justice of the peace. When Charlie got married, his father told him he was going to marry out, not in, meaning they weren't going to set up home in his house!
Charlie was born in Jack County, Texas November 8, 1903. Charlie was the son of John Hampton Young and Lillie Jarvis. Charlie died May 25, 1992 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at 88 years of age. His body was interred May 28, 1992 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at Crestview Memorial Park.

31 iv. Aubrey Farris Marshall was born in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas September 2, 1910.⁽⁵²⁾ Aubrey died November 23, 2000 in Long Beach, Los Angeles County, California, at 90 years of age. He passed away about 5 hours after his sister, Bessie. He married Vera Nell Richmond in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, May 1, 1932.⁽⁵³⁾
Vera was born in Texas May 6, 1915. Vera is the daughter of Ben H. Richmond and Mattie --?--.

32 v. Malinda Ada Marshall was born in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas November 2, 1912.⁽⁵⁴⁾ Malinda died July 9, 2000 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at 87 years of age. Her body was interred July 18, 2000 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at Crestview Memorial Park.
She married Zearl Gilbreath in Grandfield, Tillman County, Oklahoma, December 28, 1931.⁽⁵⁵⁾ Zearl was born in Mangum, Greer County, Oklahoma April 10, 1909. Zearl was the son of Bluford Belmont Gilbreath and Abigail Gertrude Veach. Zearl died April 28, 1984 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at 75 years of age. His body was interred in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at Crestview Memorial Park.

17. Lewis Harper³ Marshall (Malinda² Pierce, John¹) was born in Franklin County, Arkansas April 8, 1875.⁽⁵⁶⁾ Lewis died July 4, 1940 in Van Zandt County, Texas, at 65 years of age.⁽⁵⁷⁾ He died from a heart attack while plowing his fields. According to a family story, his wife Fannie looked out the kitchen window and saw him collapsed in the field and told their soon Uly to go and check on him for she thought he was dead. His body was interred in Smith County, Texas, at Providence Cemetery.⁽⁵⁸⁾

He married Mary Frances Williams in Van Zandt County, Texas, April 5, 1903. Luke and Fannie had 10 children. Only six survived to adulthood.

Fanny was born in Van Zandt County, Texas March 1888. Fanny died December 1944 at 56 years of age. Her body was interred in Smith County, Texas, at Providence Cemetery.⁽⁵⁹⁾

Lewis Harper Marshall and Mary Frances Williams had the following family:

33 i. Frank⁴ Marshall was born in Van Zandt County, Texas 1904. He lived only 1-1/2 years. Frank died 1906 in Van Zandt County, Texas, at 2 years of age.

Uly Marshall was born in Van Zandt County, Texas April 8, 1905.⁽⁶⁰⁾ Buck died May 23, 1961 in Dallas County, Texas, at 56 years of age.⁽⁶¹⁾ His body was interred in Smith County, Texas, at Providence Cemetery.⁽⁶²⁾ He married Opal Waits in Van Zandt County, Texas, November 4, 1923. Opal was born in Garden Valley, Smith County, Texas January 30, 1907.⁽⁶³⁾ Opal died May 24, 1994 in Grand Saline, Van Zandt County, Texas, at 87 years of age.⁽⁶⁴⁾ She owned and operated The City Cafe in Grand Saline and was a member of the Church of Christ.

35 iii. Alvin Marshall was born in Texas December 11, 1908. Alvin died November 1982 in Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania, at 73 years of age. His body was interred in Pennsylvania. He married Ann --?--.

36 iv. Abraham Raymond Marshall was born in Van Zandt County, Texas June 30, 1914.⁽⁶⁶⁾ Tabe died June 24, 1974 at 59 years of age.⁽⁶⁷⁾ His body was interred in Smith County, Texas, at Providence Cemetery.⁽⁶⁸⁾ He married Eliza Lorene Neil.

37 v. Henry Lee Marshall was born 1917. His body was interred in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas. He married Christine Unkown. Henry and Christine had no children.

38 vi. Margaret Ann Marshall was born October 2, 1920. Margaret died December 1, 1984 in Dallas County, Texas, at 64 years of age. Her body was interred. One family group sheet suggests she is buried in Providence Cemetery, but it is not confirmed. She married Glenn Andrew McClellan.

39 vii. Duard Harmon Marshall was born in Van Zandt County, Texas March 27, 1926.⁽⁶⁹⁾ Duard died June 5, 1977 in Van Zandt County, Texas, at 51 years of age.⁽⁷⁰⁾ His body was interred in Smith County, Texas, at Providence Cemetery.⁽⁷¹⁾
