Dad's Cannon Project
Some time back, one of my uncles decided to participate in a club that had contests using homemade cannons. They fired cannons in a desert, competing for distance and accuracy. Well, to participate, he needed a cannon. On a trip visiting my parents, he put the challenge to my dad. So they went around town talking to a few folks - and it was amazing how many cannon experts live in a Texas town of 100,00 people!.
A piece of drill stem, some pipe fittings, a bit of lathe work, some expert welding, and learning the craft of the wheel-wright, and Voila! A nifty working cannon!
